Cotton and mesh solve different problems. Mesh keeps you cool. Cotton takes abuse. If your apiary sits at the edge of a field with brambles, or you are lifting boxes in and out of a van every week, cotton lasts longer before it starts snagging.
Forest green is a practical colour for an out apiary. White shows every propolis mark and every smoker smudge by the end of the first season.
